Free niche finder
Not sure what to blog about? Type a topic and see what people really search for: the sub-niches inside it, the questions they ask and how much of it is about buying.
Free, no sign-up. Results come from the searches Google suggests as people type, so they're real searches, not guesses.
Needs expertise. Many of these searches are about health, money or the law. Google expects advice on those from qualified people, so a new blog finds them hard to rank for. A narrower, practical angle works better.
Lots of "near me" searches. People want somewhere local, which maps and local businesses win. Blogs do better with the how-to and buying searches.
Sub-niches inside it
Narrower corners of the topic, most searched first. A new blog usually does best by owning one of these first. Click Dig deeper to look inside one.
Questions people ask
Each one is a ready-made article idea.
This is the free part. The fastCMS Niche Finder goes much further.
This tool shows what people search for. The Niche Finder inside fastCMS uses AI to tell you whether a new blog can win it, then builds the blog:
- Can a new blog rank? Competition from big brands and forums, judged for each niche.
- Earning and seasonality scored, with a one-line reason for each score, and up to three niches side by side.
- A sub-niche recommended for you, with a full niche report: your readers, how the blog earns, warnings and a realistic timeline.
- Hundreds of searches grouped into articles that never compete with each other, quick wins first.
- One click to build the blog: AI Autopilot writes, illustrates and publishes it on your own hosting.
How to pick a blog niche
What to look for in the results above.
Plenty of real searches
A few hundred searches across a topic means enough to write about for years. Under 80 often means too few people care.
Narrow beats broad
"Hiking" competes with giant sites. "Hiking boots for wide feet" can be owned by one good blog. Start with a sub-niche, then widen.
Questions are your articles
Every "how", "why" and "can I" is something a beginner needs answered. A blog that answers them well earns trust and traffic.
Some buying searches
"Best", "review" and "vs" searches are where affiliate links earn. A niche with none is harder to make money from.
Careful with health and money
Google trusts experts on medical, financial and legal advice. Without credentials, pick a practical angle like recipes, gear or how-tos.
Something you'd enjoy
You'll check and add to these articles for months. Pick a topic you'd happily read about anyway.
